Writing a McGregor Hall/Henderson Rec Players Theatre Biography

(Young and High school actors)

  1. Remember the biography should be written in third person (Make it sound like somebody else is writing about you).

  2. Start with  your name.  Give details about where you were born, and school(s) you have or are attending.

  3. Indicate your theater experiences. If you have been onstage in previous shows, include what plays or musicals you have been in and what your role(s) were.  If you perform in any way (play a musical instrument, singing, dancing etc), you may also want to mention this.

  4. Write your thank yous.  You may want to thank your family, any mentors you have, the directors, and/or anyone else you want to thank for their guidance.

  5. Limit your bio to 100 words or less.

Tips

  • You don’t have to talk about all of the theater experiences that you have had. Write about the more popular ones that people might have seen or more recent ones, (If you’re older now, you don’t have to include a role you had as a dancing flower when you were five years old).

  • Keep it short and interesting!

  • Make it look and sound professional. Don’t be too full of yourself!
