About the Show

Arthur Miller’s The Crucible is a full-length, large-scale stage play. In the heart of old Salem in 1692, a riveting story unfolds depicting a fictionalized version of actual participants in the infamous witch trials. Part household drama, part legal courtroom thriller, the 1953 play serves as a mirror reflecting our present-day society. It reveals how seemingly harmless lies, especially those uttered by children, can snowball into widespread suspicion and fear. Within the confines of a tight-knit community, personal vendettas collide with desires and superstitions, igniting a wildfire of accusations. Arthur Miller's enduring narrative criticizes both the McCarthy Trials of the 1950s and the tools used by fascist dictators to control the masses.
